Running a league? Rival also shoots league games for photos at no cost to the league. How it works for leagues
Mic'd Up is the content package. You wear a mic for the game, so the video has your voice in it: the huddle before the last possession, the call at the line, the bench losing it after your goal.
Your voice gets cut together with the action, so every big play comes with what you said the second it happened. Then you get a vertical version, made to fill the screen on Instagram and TikTok.
Made for the athletes who talk the whole game.
For parents: the plan from booking to the finished video.
A mic on a player needs a yes from the coach and the league, and from a parent or guardian if your athlete is under 18. Michael sets it up with the coach and league before game day, not in the parking lot. You give yours when you book (there's a checkbox), and Michael gets the coach's and the league's before game day.
Your athlete wears a wireless mic for the game. Michael shoots it with your athlete as the focus, so what they say lines up with what they did. A small wireless mic clips inside the collar or the shoulder pads before warmups. It works in most sports with a jersey, just not in the pool.
Their voice gets cut together with the action into one video, plus a vertical version for social.
Athletes 12 and under: nothing goes on Rival's social media, in an ad or on the website without a written OK from a parent, the team or the coach. It's the same rule Rival uses for photos. Read the photo policy
If the coach or the league says no to a mic, a Social Reel or Pregame + Postgame + Highlights still puts the game on video.
Rival Imaging is Michael Rotiroti, a cinematographer based in Peabody. Before Rival, his camera was on HBO, NESN and NBC Sports Boston.
That's who is on the sideline for your athlete's video. Not a phone held up in the top row, zoomed in until the jersey number turns to mush. A cinematographer with your athlete as the focus, on the play and on the second right after it. For teams, it's the same eye on the whole game, shot to broadcast standards.
Meet Michael
General advice that holds up across most sports. Your coach and the programs you're talking to will know exactly what they want for yours, so ask them too.
A coach has never seen you. Open with your name, number, position, class year and team, then point yourself out at the start of each clip so nobody has to hunt for you.
Coaches watch a lot of film, and a slow start loses them. Lead with your best play. No long intro, no warmups.
Show the whole play so a coach sees the read, the effort and what you do after. A clip that starts at the celly doesn't tell them much.
Use your latest season and cut it tight. End with your contact info and your coach's.
College Highlight Tape is built for exactly this: your best plays from the season, your number marked before each clip, a title card with your name, position, class year and contact, and one link that's easy to send to coaches. It's $100 a game, shot on a broadcast video setup built for a professional result. You get the full game tape, and for $50 more Michael cuts it down to your highlights, one athlete at a time, because a goalie and a striker need different tapes.
The full game file comes within 3 days and the highlights cut within 7, as a private link you can send to coaches or upload to Hudl or NCSA. No music by default, because a lot of coaches watch with the sound off.
The logistics families and coaches ask about. Anything else, ask Michael.
Social Reel and the highlights in Pregame + Postgame + Highlights are cut to music. Popular songs are copyrighted, and Instagram and TikTok can mute a video that uses one without a license, so the song matters more than it seems.
Rival Imaging uses licensed music cleared for Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, so nothing gets muted. Want a popular song? Ask for a version with no music and add the sound in the app yourself. College Highlight Tapes have no music unless you ask.
Social Reel and Social Media Recap Edit are made vertical for Instagram, TikTok and Shorts. Mic'd Up and Pregame + Postgame + Highlights each come with a vertical version for social. Full Game Broadcast Coverage comes as a full game file, and College Highlight Tape as a link that's easy to send to coaches.
Everything comes as a private download link, with the vertical versions ready to post. Social Reel and Social Media Recap Edit arrive within 2 days. Mic'd Up and Pregame + Postgame + Highlights within 7 days. College Highlight Tape: the full game file within 3 days and the highlights cut within 7. Full Game Broadcast Coverage: the game file within 3 days.
Yes, with a yes from a parent or guardian, plus the coach and the league. Michael sets it up with the coach and league before game day.
For athletes 12 and under, nothing goes on Rival's social media, in an ad or on the website without a written OK from a parent, the team or the coach. Read the photo policy
Mic'd Up is an edited video, not a raw recording, so Michael picks what makes the cut.
Swearing, private talk with coaches and refs, and anything about other players stays out. Your family sees the finished video before Rival posts any of it.
Yes, on request. Full Game Broadcast Coverage starts with two cameras for $750 a game, a third camera is $550 more, and a livestream is quoted for your game. Mention it when you book.
The stream goes to YouTube or the school's own channel. The venue needs power and a decent signal. Livestreams are for regular season and youth games; MIAA tournament streams belong to the NFHS Network.
Yes. List everything you want for that game in the notes box and Michael will put it together.
Each package is booked and paid on its own, and Michael shoots them at the same game when the timing works. A Big Night photo spotlight and a Social Reel on senior night is a common pair. See senior night
Yes, that's who it's for. Full Game Broadcast Coverage is booked once for the team, and the full game file is made for coaches, families and film study.
The team gets one private link to the game file to share with families. How the cost gets split is up to the team or the booster club; Michael sends one invoice.
