Picture day, shot like media day

Rival Imaging shoots team photo days, individual and senior portraits, media days and styled shoots in uniform for youth, high school and college athletes on the North Shore and around Greater Boston. Every shoot is quoted, and asking is free.

What Rival shoots

Team shoots are booked by a coach, a team parent, a league or an athletic department. Portraits are booked by the family. Everything here is quoted, because a whole rec league and one senior need very different days.

Team photo days

Quotedfor your league or team

For leagues, coaches and athletic departments. Every team and every player on one set day, scheduled around your practices.

  • The full roster and the coaches together, in uniform
  • A portrait of every player on the roster
  • Each team in its own time slot

Individual and senior portraits

Quotedone athlete

For one athlete, booked by the family. Their own uniform and their own number. For seniors, the last season in their colors, at their home field or court.

  • One athlete, planned around them
  • The date and the place picked with you
  • Edited portraits in a private gallery

Media days

Quotedfor your roster

For high school athletic departments, college programs and leagues. The preseason shoot the pros do, for your whole roster.

  • A portrait of every athlete on the roster
  • Arms crossed, ball on the hip, the stare into the lens
  • Michael sets up at your place and the roster comes through one at a time

Styled shoots in uniform

Quotedone athlete

For the athlete who wants something planned: a signing day portrait, a recruiting profile, the one that gets framed in the hallway.

  • A planned shoot built around your athlete
  • On the field or anywhere that fits them
  • Edited portraits in a private gallery

Asking is free. Send the date, the place and who's in it, and Michael gets back to you within a day with a quote. Want game action instead? See action sports photography or the Rival price list.

How a team photo day runs

For coaches and league boards: the plan from the first email to the last team.

  1. 1

    Book the day

Send the date, the place and how many teams through the contact page. Michael comes back within a day with a quote that spells out what every family gets.

  2. 2

    Families get the plan

Every team gets its own time slot. The league or coach passes it on to families with one rule for what to wear: the full game uniform, clean and complete.

  3. 3

    Teams come through

In its slot, each team gets the whole roster and the coaches together, and every player gets a portrait of their own. Michael sets the rows so every face reads, from the back row to the kids kneeling up front.

Leagues can take team photos instead of a cut

Rival covers league games at no cost to the league. Families buy only the game photos they want, and the league picks its share: a cut of every sale, or free team photos.

If your board would rather not handle the money, the team photos are the share. In return, Rival is the league's exclusive game photographer and videographer for the season. Parents can always shoot their own kids.

Photo day questions

The ones parents and coaches ask first. Anything else, ask Michael.

How much do team photos cost?

Team photo days are quoted, because the number of teams, the date and the place all change the price. Asking is free.

If your league brings Rival in for its games, it can take free team photos as its share instead of a cut of sales. How Rival works with leagues

What should my athlete wear?

The full game uniform, clean and complete, the way they'd take the field. Socks pulled up, jersey on straight.

For senior portraits and styled shoots, talk through the look with Michael when you ask for the quote.

Is a senior portrait the same as a styled shoot?

Close. Both are planned portraits of one athlete in uniform, quoted ahead of time. A senior portrait is built around the last season: their jersey, their number, their home field. A styled shoot can be whatever you're picturing, like a signing day portrait or a recruiting profile.

Will my kid's photos end up online?

Not without an OK. Galleries are unlisted and kept out of Google, and nothing of an athlete 12 or under goes on Rival's social media, in an ad or on the website without a written OK from a parent, the team or the coach. Read the photo policy

How far do you travel?

The North Shore and Greater Boston are included. Shoots more than 45 minutes from Peabody may add a travel fee, quoted up front. Anywhere else in New England, ask.
